New business owner saw need, brought pizza
The story of one of Babcock Ranch's newest restaurants begins with Bethany Hunt. And the fact that she wanted pizza. Bethany's journey is just starting. Her new business is a construction zone right now. “When we moved it, it was a ghost town”, she says. “And then we found out we couldn't get pizza.” “It seemed like the most obvious thing to do was to open a pizza shop”, Bethany says.
PI Local restaurant to serve up gourmet pizza
How did she come up with the name PI Local? She admits it’s a bit nerdy, but it’s a fun name for a pizza restaurant. In math, PI (pronounced “pie”) is the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter, represented by the Greek symbol . A pizza pie is circular. Get it? The “local” part of the name refers to the fact that all the ingredients will be fresh and come from local farmers.
RESIDENT CORNER
As retailers start to take root in the Crescent B Commons shopping center, one in particular is especially meaningful for Babcock Ranch resident, Bethany Hunt. “From day one of living at Babcock Ranch, my vision was to start a pizza business,” said Bethany, the owner of Pi Local Pizza, the first restaurant to open in the Crescent B Commons shopping center. “It was a joke at first, but now it’s a reality!”
